Andy Murray to continue training Djokovic, and possibly Wimbledon

Andy Murray will continue to train Novak Djokovic after the French Open and possibly in Wimbledon.

Djokovic confirmed that the Scot had agreed to continue her partnership, which began in the construction to the Australian Open of the last month.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion said that the collaboration was “indefinite” and opened the possibility of former competitors who also connect in Wimbledon in Wimbledon this summer.

Djokovic’s Melbourne campaign ended when he had to retire in the semi-finals against Alexander Zverev.

After that, the 37-year-old said that he and Murray would “cool off” before he decided whether he would go on together.

“We talked the day after completing the tournament and thought about the time we spent together,” Djokovic told the ATP tour to the media channel.

“We agreed that he would take some time and think, speak to his family members and see if he decided to continue working.

“I have expressed my wish to continue working with him, so I’m really glad that he accepted it.

“It is indefinite how long we work together, but we most likely agreed in the states and some tournaments of the sound court. We’ll see how it works afterwards. “

Djokovic is now over his leg injury and plays his comeback tournament in the Qatar Open in Doha.

Murray was able to join Indian Wells and Miami Djokovic in Indian Wells and Miami next month before the Clay Court season culminates in Roland Garros in June.

Murray, who retired last year, won the first of his two Wimbledon titles with Djokovic in the 2013 final, one of 14 career victory against Serbia.

“He obviously has a unique perspective on my game,” added Djokovic. “He played me and all the current best players in the world and knows everyone well.

“He knows exactly what we have to do tactically – the development of my game and what needs to be improved.

“He has a positive approach and treated the entire pressure very well, and it is a completely different situation than as a player.

“He was great with all other team members and although it was unfortunate how the Australian Open ended with an injury, we had a great run.”
